Planned Parenthood’s Funding Cut

Planned Parenthood of America alleged the decision to cut grant funding to its sixteen breast cancer charity was political in nature. US Rep. Cliff Stearns initiated an inquiry into PPFA to determine whether the funds were used for abortion. Planned Parenthood had established a Breast Health Emergency Fund using a gift from Amy and Lee Fikes’ foundation. Its aim was to provide breast cancer screening and care.
