Job OverviewThe Manager of Grants & In Kind Giving is an exciting opportunity to join the Habitat NYC Resource Development team and support the fundraising program, focused on expanding and diversifying Habitat NYC’s base of private sector donors. The position will report to the VP of Resource Development and will be responsible for leading and executing a successful grants agenda and securing foundational support across all sectors. This role is also charged with helping secure Gift in Kind, including donated materials to offset construction costs and working with corporations in order to procure product donations for Habitat NYC’s retail component, ReStore.In this role, the Manager will need to be adept in stewardship activities related to non-profit fundraising and relationship management, including fostering new leads, executing strategic plans, researching prospective clients and building pipelines.The ideal candidate for this position has experience in the NYC foundation and grants sector, a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail, and is excited about the prospect of significantly growing a revenue stream.Responsibilities• Cultivate a portfolio of prospective grantors, foundations and corporate partners to expand partner base through research, mail\/email campaigns, social selling, cold-calls, and invitations among corporations, private and public foundations.• Prepare and secure grant applications from corporate, private and public foundations for funding.• Develop and manage effective processes and tools to enhance Habitat NYC’s grant effectiveness, including but not limited to:o Communicating and collaborating with key internal stakeholderso Managing inputs and deliverables from all team members to ensure high quality materials are developed and deadlines are meto Matching potential donors with existing program commitments and new program ideaso Ensuring effective and timely identification and communication of program progresso Enhancing Habitat NYC’s ability to capture and communicate program impact· Develop and manage deliverables for strategic donors, including: o Draft and edit reports, requests for funding, such as letters of inquiry, concept papers, proposals, and grant applications to private funding sources. o Draft and manage calendar of reports due and individual timelines for each major reporto Write narrative progress reports for strategic, major and mid-major donors in coordination with other team memberso Assemble budget and expenditure information from finance and program team members and report information to donors as required in agreementso Assemble other program data for purposes of donor reportingo Assemble stories from the field in partnership with Program Managers and the Marketing and Communications teamo Respond to queries from donors on reports and progress in conjunction with Development team leads• Identify and secure gift in kind materials to offset construction costs• Procure product from corporations and keep track of inventory for retail component of Habitat NYC, ReStore• Maintain a solid understanding of Habitat NYC’s mission, strategies, culture, values, history, programs and initiatives, and stay abreast of trends in corporate social responsibility and foundation funding.• Lead research activities, including prospect research, the creation of research reports, identifying grant opportunities and building substantial pipelines.• Create and manage standardized templates related to proposal development, information
