Position Overview:

is seeking an Associate Project Coordinator to be part of the
Emergency Response Team in to support programming.
The primary responsibility of the Associate
Project Coordinator
is to support the implementation of readiness initiatives and COVID-19 programming from headquarters. They support and manage, depending on the staffing plan, technical and core department inputs, especially documentation and knowledge management. They support the Director of Emergency Response & Preparedness, the Emergency Response Specialist, and deputized when needed to implement activities related to an emergency response.
Program Support
Draft technical documents, policy & procedural documents, and project design elements for Emergency Medical Teams;
Coordinate input and technical assistance from internal colleagues;
Support development and implementation of a COVID Mental Health training initiative;
Ensure appropriate information flow among headquarters, field, and external actors;
Draft agreements with partners, government bodies, and relevant local entities;
Ensure donor compliance in activities and programming;
Coordinates field requests for assistance with relevant departments;
Collaborate with human resources in the identification and selection of personnel;
Request technical and operational support as needed through the Team Lead or
Director of Emergency Response and Preparedness
Draft and submit high quality and timely situation reports, donor reports, and local government reports;
Identifies problems, bottlenecks and issues impacting implementation and coordinates identification and implementation of solutions.
Support the development of the program strategy in coordination with departments active in the emergency response;
Participate in training and professional development activities(literature, publications, and relevant papers/documents);
Develops plans and procedures for assessing material, staff and their movements, planning and costing of operational budgets;
Ensure mutual support within the team and contribute to teambuilding;
Performs other related duties as required.
Logistics:
Support procurement and logistic efforts for ongoing response activities;
Provide program staff and other departments with regular updates of procurement pipeline and stock inventories through the development of daily, weekly, and monthly activity reporting;
Support development of an asset management process;
In coordination with Program and Finance staff, provide inputs for budget design and contribute to budget management of emergency projects
Qualifications:
Academic degree in logistics,
humanitarian affairs, international affairs, public health, management
or relevant field (desired).
Experience:
Minimum of three years of professional experience in international humanitarian programming; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Familiarity with relevant stakeholders, especially international organizations (EU, UN, WHO);
Familiarity with international humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs;
Familiarity with USAID rules and regulations around procurement and logistics, and their application in humanitarian settings;
Understanding of health and development concepts in developing countries and humanitarian settings;
Working knowledge of financial management and strategic planning
Understanding and ability to work in multi-cultural environment (cultural sensitivity)
Full computer literacy and adequate administrative skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from senior managers in the field and HQ, counterparts, senior government, donors, and partners
Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (minimum requirements)
Fluency in English is essential, other UN languages a strong asset
