General duties:

The Multicultural Program Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of support duties and be fluent in both English and Spanish.  This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position at the NDSC Center in Roswell, GA.  Work hours will be determined by the Executive Director, based on the needs of the organization and in consultation with the employee.

Specific Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Outreach to diverse populations
    1. Be the primary point of contact for all diversity outreach among numerous minority populations and generally promote inclusion and diversity among all members and constituents seeking NDSC services and support.
    2. Answer and return calls, e-mails and other correspondence from Spanish-speaking constituents
    3. Work with, develop and support NDSC’s networks of Spanish-speaking leaders, both domestically and abroad
    4. Work with, develop and support NDSC’s network of African-American leaders.
    5. Work with, develop and support NDSC’s diversity outreach in additional populations as directed by the Board, through the Executive Director
    6. Serve as a resource for affiliates seeking to start/grow their outreach efforts
    7. Produce materials that would help affiliates to start/grow outreach efforts
    8. Identify and prioritize the need for translation of NDSC website and printed materials
    9. Translate materials and work with reviewers to ensure accuracy and relevance
    10. Identify and nurture individuals for positions of leadership (committee/board)
    11. Identify NDSC minority members
    12. Post appropriate materials on NDSC’s Spanish language Facebook page; interact with those who post there
    13. In conjunction with the Engagement Director, develop and send regularly scheduled e-briefs to targeted members.
    14. Produce regularly scheduled webinars for Spanish-speaking families.
  2. Provide support to the Programs and Partnerships Director and Convention Director
    1. Provide assistance to callers to the NDSC Center, regardless of their language
    2. Working with the Programs and Partnerships Director, ensure website inclusion of appropriate Spanish-language and diversity-related materials
    3. Work with Convention Director regarding various convention-related tasks, particularly, but not exclusively, related to diversity outreach efforts – notably registration assistance for Spanish-speaking attendees, securing of translation/interpretation services, and development of workshops for targeted audiences.
    4. All staff members are required to work at the convention.  This employee will have primary responsibility for Spanish onsite registration and translation headset distribution and retrieval.
    5. Work with appropriate Board committees/strategic teams on the development and updating of resource materials.
    6. Support NDSC’s outreach programs, including those in rural, tribal and urban settings. Travel will be required, but will be balanced among team members.

3. Support the NDSC strategic plan, working with board and staff to ensure progress of the goals and objectives.

4. Other duties as assigned.
